Every professional wedding photographer has a master shot list! This list is a layout of must- have photos that matches your timeline for the day. Does not matter the number of weddings that photographer has done, each wedding is unique. Which means distinctive photos specific to YOUR DAY! There is always 1 list that a photographer can never prepare for….Unless you help!

Give your photographer a list for your family portraits! These are the photos after the ceremony where the bride & groom take pictures with their immediate family (Sometimes even the extended family). So why can a photographer not be prepared for these shots without you? This is important for 2 main reasons – Keep timeline on track & Avoid intense family drama before it happens!

Wedding Day timeline can feel fragile. If you are not organized, that timeline can fly out the window and soon you will be cutting out things that you really wanted to do just to get back on track. By providing a list to your photographer, it can avert delays and keep your large family on track.

Lets take a minute to talk about that last point. Yes, photographers do have a basic list….”Bride with Mom & dad, Groom with mom & dad”…. but what if its the bride with her dad & step mom? (Yikes, feelings can get hurt quickly) How would the photographer know that without your personalized list? So lets just SKIP those potential issues and be prepared together!

Below is a BASIC list to get you started. Start with this list and add to it! Names are welcomed!!!! For example, Bride with Dad (Harry) & mom (Kim). At the end of your list, be sure to tell your photographer about any history within the family that can cause hurt feelings or tricky moments. This will give your photographer time to devise a plan to prevent this.
